Manganese GreenSand Plus Filters:

Iron, Manganese and sulfur are oxidized (a gas becomes a solid) and then trapped in the filter bed (adsorption).  When the bed is back washed, these solid are then flushed to the drain.  Oxygen/contact time is the key.
